Welcome to ZCCP, where our main emphasis is on releasing the progeny of animals back into the wild. We keep only our breeding pairs (ambassador animals) and those animals that cannot be released for educational purposes at the project. All offspring, whenever possible, will be released into the wild, back where they belong. Join us in our mission to preserve and protect wildlife by supporting our efforts to reintroduce animals to their natural habitats.”
Important notes – a must read:
Enclosures Access:
Caracals – No access allowed. The educational tour will still be conducted in front of the caracal enclosures.
African Wildcats & Servals – Access to all visitors including children are allowed. The educational tour will be done within the enclosures of these cats. Children smaller than 4 years to be on a shoulder of a parent. Strict children’s rules will apply.
Cheetah – A minimum height of 1.5m and over the age of 14 years required.
Photos:
Photos are allowed but with a 2m distance between the cat and person. Photos will ONLY be allowed under strict guidance of our guides.
- Bookings are essential.
Unfortunately, no visitors will be allowed at the main gate prior the above times. - Please note that we offer a Cafeteria service type buffet for large groups
- All guests will be asked to sign an indemnity on issuing a ticket.
- All tours will be limited to the maximum of 40 visitors. The total number of guests will be split into groups. Groups not to exceed the total of 20 guests per group.
- All visitors enter enclosures at their own risk.
- NO Go Pro or selfie sticks are allowed.
- NO sudden movements.
- Should any visitor cause a disturbance to the cats or tour, they will be asked by the tour guide to leave the enclosures immediately.
- Please follow the guide’s instructions at all times.
- Please stay with the group while attending the tour.
- No running within the camps or outside the fences.
- No loud noises of any kind.
- Crying babies to be comforted at the parking area, please. This is not only a disturbance for other guests but for the cats as well.
- All rabies inoculations are up to date and on record.
- The above arrangements are for your own safety as well as for the well-being of our cats.

The Project has been in operation since 1994, since then we have successfully rehabilitated and released Servals, Caracals, African Wildcats and Cheetahs. We are delighted to release the two Servals at iSimangaliso Wetland Park and to play our part in ensuring the conservation of this rare and beautiful species. This neighboring Wetland Park, iSimangaliso, provides them with a secure home away from inhabited areas and the threat of snaring. Servals are listed on the ‘Threatened or Protected Species’ (TOPS) list owing to their rarity. They are vulnerable to being snared and killed by farmers, in particular for their beautiful pelts.
Released to Date
All these releases were conducted in conjunction with KZN Wildlife. Releases are recorded as per our SOP’s and Protocols.
