Get to know our staff: Nondumiso Myeni

Receptionist because super amazing, multi-tasking, miracle worker is not an official job title! Allow us to introduce to you our other receptionist and reservationist, Nondumiso Myeni. Our Nondumiso bubbles with a positive attitude and perseverance. She is always keen to learn and expand her knowledge within the hospitality industry. What we appreciate most about our Nondumiso is her dedication and ability to face each task no matter how difficult it may be.   Let’s see what she had to say for her Q&A. 1. What is your favourite food: I am proudly South African. Give me a braai and pap anytime! 2. What is your favourite colour: I love white, as it represents my personality. I love peace 3. What is your favourite music: Gospel classic music! 4. What are your hobbies: I love to work in my garden to relax and destress. 5. How long are you working for Emdoneni Lodge: I have been part of the Emdoneni Team for 8 years. My employment commenced in 2014 as a receptionist/reservationist. 6. What do you love about Emdoneni Lodge: Emdoneni Lodge has given me the opportunity to learn and educate myself on the different positions within the lodge, In return this has developed me into a well-rounded employee within the hospitality industry. Hospitality is in my genes, and serving guests is what I love! 7. What have you learned while working for Emdoneni Lodge: Over the years I have learned how to work under pressure. Each scenario requires a different approach to ensure that good service is delivered at all times. We understand that being a receptionist can be difficult at times, but you have made it look so easy with your smiling face and cheerful attitude. We heartly thank you for being you! Get to know our staff: Deserè Havenga

An exceptional General Manager is always ready to do whatever it takes to get the work done.  It is with great pleasure that we introduce to you our General Manager, Deserè Havenga. Our Deserè is well known for her dependability and readiness to put in the extra effort! She is what truly holds the Emdoneni team together. She has been a valuable member of our team for 3 years already! She was born in Gauteng but calls Richardsbay her home and here is her Q&A: 1. What is your favourite food: I love to braai with salads and a traditional mielietert. 2. What is your favourite colour: Brown with any autumn colours. I am a true child of the earth. 3. What is your favourite music: Country music is my absolute favourite! 4. What are your hobbies: In my spare time I play online strategy games, read, and adore spending time with my family and friends. 5. How long are you working for Emdoneni Lodge: I have been with Emdoneni Lodge for 3 years. I started at Emdoneni in 2019 as the General Manager. 6. What do you love about Emdoneni Lodge: Emdoneni Lodge is surrounded with beautiful Zululand nature and as a result is very tranquil and quiet. I have always been a person who loves and appreciate nature. 7. What have you learned while working for Emdoneni Lodge: I have the freedom to work alongside my staff. I strive to teach them that we work as one team, and not only as an individual, for the good of the lodge. I love how I can spread my knowledge to them, showing that life is more about giving, then taking. We are grateful to have you as our General Manager. Your unique perspectives add so much to our team efforts. You attend to tasks without even batting an eye. It means a lot to us that you always have our backs. Get to know our staff: Ashen Ndlovu

Here at Emdoneni Lodge our #maintenance team really measures up! Meet our groundsman and maintenance, Ashen Ndlovu. He has the best combination of talent, skills and attitude that add up to great performance. Here a Q&A to get to know our Ashen better. 1. What is your favourite food: Chicken and rice is my absolute favourite! 2. What is your favourite colour: All the colours in the rainbow. 3. What is your favourite music: I love gospel and reggae music. 4. What is your hobbies: Nothing beats a great game of soccer. 5. How long are you working for Emdoneni Lodge: I’ve been working at Emdoneni Lodge for 6 years. My employment commenced in 2017 as a groundsman/maintenance. 6. What do you love about Emdoneni Lodge: Emdoneni Lodge really stands out in the quality of service we provide to our guests. The welcoming atmosphere is something extraordinary. Each guest that enters our gates are welcomed with open arms. 7. What have you learned while working for Emdoneni Lodge: I have learned how to welcome any guest to the lodge. In addition hereto, I have learned patience and a lot about animal behaviour. You are a valuable member of the Emdoneni family and we have noticed all the hard work you have put in. Get to know our staff: Phile Mthethwa

Sometimes your run into people who change your life for the better. Those people are called bar hostesses! Our Phile Mthethwa is like a “shot” of fresh air! She plays a vital part in everyday life here at Emdoneni Lodge . She has been with us for 11 years and we soon came to realise that she has a special knack for working behind the bar. Her communication skills and sparkling personality is what our guests adore most about her. Cheers, Phile! We thank you for working hard, but most importantly for working kind! Get to know our staff: Rebecca Dladla

In a blink of an eye the year 2022 has almost come to an end and we cannot believe it! We are sure that, like many of you, we have experienced this year in all its glory. We have faced an abundance of challenges, but we have also celebrated many victories which would have been impossible without our dynamic staff. Whilst we reminisce about this year and all it has taught us, we want to take this opportunity to remember our staff members who tackled each and every day no matter what it entailed. They are the true spirit of Emdoneni Lodge. We kick this remembrance of with one of our dearest employees, Rebecca Dladla. She has been with us for over 15 years! Her enduement and perseverance is what we most appreciate about her. There is no task too small or too big for our Rebecca! She adores working with our guests and learning about all the different nationalities who pop in for a stay with us. Thank you Rebecca, you are a valuable member of the Emdoneni family.
